Tomo Retro

Tomo Retro is a plugin experience, not a native dependency of Tomo Social or the streaming control plane. It adds emulator-specific configuration and presentation on top of the same generic session lifecycle.

  • Tomo Streaming creates and transports the interactive session.
  • Tomo Retro runtime embeds the emulator core and produces its video/audio.
  • Tomo Retro SDK/plugin maps room configuration, game metadata and controller input.
  • The host platform owns users, room membership and permission to launch a title.

Platforms should display:

  • the experience and game title;
  • emulator/core when it is useful to operators;
  • lifecycle status;
  • connected participant count;
  • empty explicitly when nobody is connected;
  • player/controller assignments separately from simple viewer count.

Any platform capable of calling the REST API and embedding a WebRTC client can host Tomo Retro. The social network is one distribution channel, not a runtime requirement.
